PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND Leslie A Williams B.I.D.
Leslie received her baccalaureate degree in interior design from the University of Manitoba, Canada. She practiced interior design in Canada before relocating to the Caribbean in 1990.
Her first port of call in the Caribbean was Tortola, British Virgin Islands; where she headed the Interior Design - Eastern Caribbean division for a leading international architectural group. Working in many of the Leeward Islands, on a wide variety of projects, was part of her responsibilities.
To satisfy a desire to return to city life, she practiced interior design in Miami for four years; concentrating on resort and corporate interiors in both the US and the Caribbean.
But her love of the Caribbean pulled her back. In 2004 she relocated full time to the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Leslie understands the Caribbean environment; it's wonders and it's challenges. Her work combines a creative use of tropical design elements and often incorporates the bespoke work of local artists and craftsmen. Material and furnishings are always selected to suit the island environment and life style. She has extensive experience in residential, resort and commercial design.
Leslie's emphasis on interpreting a client's vision and providing workable, creative solutions is demonstrated by a portfolio of work that includes a variety of styles and timeless design. Her attention to detail, clear communications and appreciation for logistics are valued by the private clients, architects and developers she works with.
Leslie is an owner and the Managing Director of Bee Spoak Design.
